Pokemon Go Fest will return to the 2021 edition, scheduled to be held on July 17th and July 18th. Like last year’s event, this year’s Fest will also hold virtual events instead of physical events due to the ongoing pandemic. Pokemon Go developer Niantic described the festival as a global event. Niantic also announced: “2021 is both the 25th anniversary of Pokémon and the 5th anniversary of Pokémon Go.” Last year’s “Pokemon Go Fest” marked the launch of the global challenge arena. So far, the company has remained silent on the specific activities of this year’s Superstar Program.

Niantic announced the release date of “Pokemon Go Fest 2021” through a blog post and Twitter. Niantic stated that this year’s event will return as a “two-day global event from July 17 to July 18, 2021.” . According to the post, last year’s game witnessed players from all over the world working together to complete various challenges, unlock rewards and defeat the GO Rocket team.

Earlier this year, Pokemon Go hosted Holi at a game event on March 28. In addition, the game has launched two new T-shirts inspired by Holi for players around the world. It marked the first major game event of Pokemon Go in India. The company was also recently spotted recruiting staff in India, which may indicate that the company may increase its business in the country.

Recently, Pokemon Go developer Niantic shared a trailer for its upcoming AR glasses. The disclosure only shows part of the AR glasses, not how they work. The image only shows the temples of the glasses and the strap with the orange Niantic logo. The temples look thick and seem to be equipped with a small speaker grille. So far, there is no confirmation on the release of AR glasses.
