According to rumors, Nvidia launched the new GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and GeForce RTX 3070 Ti desktop graphics cards on Computex 2021. Both use the current Ampere architecture, and of course support Nvidia’s DLSS upgrade technology, ray tracing, reflection delay tuning and so on. It is said that the new top-of-the-line GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is twice as fast as the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti a few years ago and 50% faster than the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, while the new GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is twice as fast as the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti, which is GeForce RTX 1.5 times that of 2070 Super.

Nvidia’s own GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Founder Edition is priced at US$1,199 (approximately Rs 86,765 before tax), while the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Founder’s Edition is priced at US$599 (approximately Rs 43,345). They will be on sale globally on June 3rd and June 10th, respectively. However, Nvidia describes its Founders Edition cards as “limited edition”, which means they will be in short supply. Third-party OEM partners including Asustek, Zotac, Gigabyte, MSI, Tongde, Gengyun, Inno3D and Galax will announce their models and prices.

Taking into account the current global shortage of GPUs and the subsequent price increases, street prices may be higher. However, Nvidia’s official announcement did not mention the hash rate limit, and there are rumors that this measure is designed to prevent the use of GPUs for cryptocurrency mining, which has caused global supply tensions.

The GeForce RTX 3080 Ti has 10,240 CUDA cores, the base frequency is 1.37GHz, and the boost speed is 1.67GHz. It will come with 12GB of GDDR6X RAM on a 384-bit bus. Its rated power is 350W. Its new brother, GeForce RTX 3070 Ti GPU, consists of 6,144 CUDA cores, with basic speed and acceleration speed of 1.58GHz and 1.77GHz, respectively. The card will have 8GB of GDDR6 RAM on a 256-bit bus with a rated power of 220W.

In addition to desktop GPUs, NVIDIA also showcased several newly launched gaming and productivity laptops with GeForce RTX GPUs, including the new Alienware x15, 16mm thin gaming laptops with 15-inch 1440p G-Sync screen, and GeForce RTX 3080 GPU.

NVIDIA also announced that the number of games and applications that support ray tracing and/or DLSS has now increased to 130. New entrants include Doom Eternal, Red Dead Redemption 2, Rainbow 6 Siege and Ica Lowes. Fortnite, which already supports RTX technology, will get a new Titanium City map with a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card as the background to commemorate the release of the product. Nvidia also cooperated with Orbx to release a free Microsoft Flight Simulator module that enhances the characteristics of Taipei’s Xinyi District to celebrate the spirit of Computex 2021.
