NormanMax hires Blue Marble’s Alvaro Espinel Pardo to lead strategy & development in Latin & South America

NormanMax Insurance Holdings, a U.S. parametric insurance and reinsurance company, has hired Alvaro Espinel Pardo as vice president to lead its strategy and growth in Latin and South America.

Espinel Pardo joins the company on March 23, 2026, and will report to Nick Griffiths, who joined Parametric Re/Insurance last year as chief revenue officer.

Most recently, Espinel Pardo served as Latin America Business Development Manager at parametric insurtech company Blue Marble. Prior to this, he worked for reinsurance broker Gallagher Re Bolivia for six months as sales manager, followed by more than two years as sales manager.

Earlier in his career, Espinel Pardo spent more than two years at WeWork and has also worked at Aqua Expeditions, BNP Paribas Cardiff, Citibank and Rimac Seguros y Reaseguros.

The appointments in Latin and South America come amid expansion for the company, which last year acquired parametric flood insurer FloodFlash, among a number of other appointments.

Brad Meier, CEO of Norman Max, said: “I am very excited to have Alvaro join the Norman Max team because I have found that he combines a sharp analytical mind with a practical, solutions-driven approach. He moves quickly, understands what is most important commercially, and brings an energy and professionalism that will help drive our business forward.”
