MSIG USA, the U.S. subsidiary of Tokyo-based MSIG Holdings, Inc., has appointed Ron Morrison as chief claims officer, reporting to CEO Peter McKenna.
He has extensive experience overseeing complex commercial claims operations and is known for disciplined leadership, sound decision-making and strengthening claims as a core function of professional insurance organizations.
“Claims play a decisive role in how clients and brokers experience MSIG USA,” McKenna added. “Ron understands that effective claims management requires technical depth, consistency and transparency, especially in complex loss environments. His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our claims organization to support underwriting excellence and long-term partnerships with clients and brokers.”
Morrison will be responsible for MSIG USA’s claims function, overseeing strategy, operations, technical standards, litigation management and organizational development. He will work with underwriting, legal and distribution teams to ensure claims decisions align with portfolio objectives, support appropriate risk selection and deliver timely and fair outcomes for policyholders.
The position will include responsibility for further integrating data, analytics and technology throughout the claims process. MSIG USA is continuing to invest in digital tools and artificial intelligence capabilities to support decision-making, increase efficiency and transparency for clients, brokers and internal stakeholders. Morrisons’ experience in claims operating models will support the continued development of these initiatives.
Prior to joining MSIG USA, Morrison held senior claims leadership roles at Great American Insurance Group, most recently as divisional senior vice president, overseeing the property claims and large loss operations. Earlier positions included senior positions at Cincinnati Insurance, managing high-severity casualty and litigation claims, and as a complex claims specialist at Selective Insurance.
