MS Reinsurance (MS Re), a global reinsurance company headquartered in Switzerland, announced the appointment of Lutz Honstetter as Chief Investment Officer (CIO).
In his new role, Honstetter will be responsible for developing the company’s long-term investment strategy. Based in Zurich, he will report directly to MS Re CEO Robert Wiest and will become a member of the leadership team.
Honstetter has over 25 years of international experience in asset management in the insurance, pensions and banking sectors.
Prior to joining MS Re, he held a number of senior investment leadership positions at Zurich Insurance Group, including Chief Investment Officer for Germany, and served as a member of the Executive Committee. Most recently, he worked at Zurich Insurance Company as Group Investment Management – Strategy Implementation Consulting.
Earlier in his career, he held senior regional leadership roles at Axa-Winterthur Asia and held roles at PwC and Winterthur Group.
