MS Amlin promotes Sarah Wilson to Head of Outwards Reinsurance

Global insurer and reinsurer MS Amlin has announced the appointment of Sarah Wilson as Head of Reinsurance.

In her new role, Wilson will lead the strategic direction and day-to-day management of the outward reinsurance function. She will oversee the design and layout of MS Amlin’s reinsurance programmes, portfolio optimization and counterparty engagement across the group’s global platforms. She will work closely with underwriting teams in London, Dubai and Singapore to ensure reinsurance strategies are aligned with MS Amlin’s risk appetite, capital objectives and long-term profitability.

Wilson will report to MS Amlin chief underwriting officer Martin Burke.

She brings more than two decades of industry experience. She joined MS Amlin in September 2022 as Manager of Outward Reinsurance and was subsequently promoted to Co-Head of Outward Reinsurance in March 2024.

Prior to joining MS Amlin, Wilson spent twenty years at Tokio Marine Kiln, working within the treaty underwriting team, where he was promoted to Reinsurance Revenue Treaty Manager in 2017.

Burke commented: “Sarah’s promotion demonstrates both her leadership skills and MS Amlin’s commitment to creating an environment where talent can develop and thrive. She has played a central role in building a high-caliber outbound reinsurance team. As the market continues to evolve from renewal on 1 January, experienced leaders who understand both the technical and people aspects of reinsurance are critical, and Sarah is ideally suited to lead the function until 2026.”

Wilson said: “I am delighted to be taking on this role as we begin 2026. As markets continue to navigate geopolitical volatility and structural changes, disciplined reinsurance strategies, strong partnerships and a clear focus on risk are more important than ever. I look forward to continuing to work closely with my team and across the business to support MS Amlin in achieving its underwriting objectives in the year ahead.”
