Lloyds global reinsurer MS Amlin has appointed Andrew Fish as head of risk management. The move is in line with the reinsurer’s ongoing commitment to enhancing vertical expertise.
In his new role, Fish will enhance the company’s risk management and pricing strategies through advanced modeling and analytics and lead a team of 35 people. In addition, he will focus on assessing the impact of emerging risks, including climate change, cyber threats and geopolitical volatility.
His appointment follows MS Amlin’s partnership with catastrophe risk modeling and solutions provider Moody’s RMS in 2024, strengthening the company’s investment in cutting-edge analytics and insights.
Fish has extensive experience across the market. Most recently, he served as Head of Catastrophe Management for Global Reinsurance Specialties (GRS) for the past four years, supporting GRS clients across the Specialty Real Estate (D&F and Retro) and Specialty product lines.
Prior to this, he served as Head of Catastrophe Pricing and Analysis for QIC Global Services until 2021. Fish is responsible for the catastrophe pricing function for several QIC entities, including Qatar Re, Antares Syndicate and QEL.
In his past role at Aon, Fish was responsible for the origination and structuring of insurance-linked securities (ILS) transactions such as catastrophe bonds and sidecars.
Martin Burke, Chief Underwriting Officer at MS Amlin, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Andrew to MS Amlin as Head of Risk Management. His deep expertise and market experience will be invaluable as we continue to help clients manage complex and evolving catastrophe risks.
“As the world faces increasingly dynamic challenges from climate to cyber, his leadership will enhance our ability to combine analytics with insights and build long-term customer relationships.”
