Moody’s integrates Oasis SaaS into its Intelligent Risk Platform

Moody’s, a provider of data, intelligence and analytics tools, has announced the integration of newly launched Oasis Software as a Service Limited (Oasis SaaS) into its Intelligent Risk Platform (IRP).

The collaboration aims to provide reinsurers and brokers with a unified, vendor-neutral catastrophe modeling environment that meets the industry’s growing demand for independent model selection and operational efficiency.

The integration follows the launch of Oasis SaaS, an industry-owned, vendor-neutral platform designed to protect the disaster market from consolidation and acquisition risks.

“Moody’s vision for an open modeling ecosystem is not new; just over two years ago we announced our commitment to open unified modeling on an intelligent risk platform,” said Derek Neal, associate director of product management, software and applications at Moody’s.

Adding: “We believe that combining all of Moody’s RMS models: Combined Loss Model (ALM), Detailed Loss Model (DLM) and High Definition Model (HD) with Oasis models and the company’s native models to provide a unified modeling experience will bring significant value to our customers.”

By connecting IRP with Oasis SaaS, Moody’s users can now access more than 300 Oasis-based models and more than 400 Moody’s RMS models through a single streamlined workflow.

The collaboration leverages Moody’s Open Modeling Engine (OME) to bridge the gap between different modeling ecosystems. Key highlights include:

Unified Access: Users can execute models from various providers, including ARA, Fathom, JBA Risk Management and Impact Forecasting, directly through IRP applications such as Risk Modeler™, UnderwriteIQ™ and TreatyIQ™.

Operational Efficiency: Integration eliminates the need for manual data conversion between different exposure and loss formats. This allows the modeling team to focus on risk analysis rather than IT infrastructure management.

Enhanced data management: Modeling output from Oasis SaaS is available in Moody’s Risk Data Lake, enabling advanced analytics, automated backups through Data Vault™, and secure peer-to-peer data sharing through Risk Data Exchange.

Independence and resiliency: The Oasis SaaS platform is built on Amazon Web Services (AWS), ensuring a scalable, vendor-neutral environment that is immune to the risks of market consolidation.
