Global MGA incubator Mission has appointed Tom Hill as chief commercial officer (CCO) for its UK and European operations.
Hill is an MGA expert with unique underwriting, DUA placement and MGA creation experience.
The appointment is aimed at leveraging his technology underwriting experience to drive commercial strategy and identify the next generation of high-performance MGAs.
Most recently, Hill served as head of international placements for Innovisk Capital Partners following its acquisition by Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers International, where he was responsible for leading capacity and underwriting enhancements for more than 40 in-house MGAs.
Ross Dingwall, CEO UK and Europe at Mission, commented: “Mission is home to the most ambitious underwriters in the market and to support them we need a commercial leader who speaks their language. Tom is not just a strategist, he is a technology underwriter who has spent his entire career in the global MGA market.
“He understands the fine mechanics of pricing models, constraint agencies and capacity management because he built them himself. This technical empathy is critical as we help our portfolio companies navigate an increasingly complex risk landscape.”
Tom Hill, incoming chief commercial officer, added: “Having spent my career entirely focused on the MGA space, I know that sustainable growth is rooted in adaptability and underwriting discipline. Having been through the process from initial launch to scaling to over 25,000 policyholders, I understand the friction points founders face.
“As CCO, my goal is to bridge the gap between capability capital and technology execution, ensuring our existing and future MGAs not only have the financial backing but also the underwriting structure they need to outperform the market.”
