Microsoft confirmed through a teaser video released on Tuesday that the Xbox Series S console will debut on November 10. The official release date of Xbox Series S matches the date announced earlier this week. The new Xbox console is touted to use brand new hardware to provide “next-generation performance” that supports frame rates up to 120fps at 1440p resolution. Xbox Series S is expected to debut alongside Xbox Series X. Both of these new consoles will be backward compatible to support games for existing Xbox One, Xbox 360 and original Xbox models.

Xbox Series S release date

The Xbox Series S trailer released by Microsoft for more than one and a half minutes will be released on November 10. This is the same as the latest report requiring simultaneous release of Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X on the same date.

In addition to confirming the release date, the trailer also shows Xbox SeriesS in detail. It mentioned that the new console will be the “smallest Xbox ever”, nearly 60% smaller than the upcoming Xbox Series X. The video also emphasizes that the all-digital Xbox Series S will be equipped with a 512GB custom NVMe SSD. Considering the fact that most modern games consume more than 100GB, storage space may be an issue. However, Redmond may have some solutions to solve hardware limitations.

Microsoft has designed Xbox Series S to support 1440p games up to 120fps. It will also be provided with DirectX ray tracing and include support for variable rate shadows and variable refresh rates. In addition, according to the trailer, the console is touted to provide 4K upgrades for existing games.

The exact specifications of the Xbox Series S have not yet been announced. Nevertheless, the trailer is enough to anticipate the next level of performance through the new console.
