The company announced that the Mi Band 7 Pro will be released in China with the Mi 12S series on July 4. The Chinese company also showed off the wearable’s design via a clip with a rectangular display dial – a first in the Xiaomi fitness band series. Details of the Pro version are not yet known, but it is speculated that the Mi Band 7 Pro could be an enhanced version of the Mi Band 7 and Mi Band 7 NFC launched last month.
The Xiaomi Smart Ecosystem announced through its Weibo handle that the Mi Band 7 Pro will be released on July 4, the same day that the Mi 12S series debuted in China. The Mi Band 7 Pro will feature a rectangular display, and the wearable is dubbed an advanced professional-grade sports and fitness monitoring experience (translation). A previous report said that the Pro model is expected to get GPS and a larger battery (likely 250mAh) compared to the Mi Band 7’s 180mAh battery. Its first reference reportedly appeared in the app code for the Xiaomi Door Lock smart lock.
As mentioned earlier, the Mi Band 7 Pro will launch alongside the Mi 12S series, which includes the Mi 12S Ultra, Mi 12S Pro, and Mi 12S smartphones. Company CEO Lei Jun shared a teaser image for the launch, highlighting the partnership between Xiaomi and Leica announced last month. The Mi 12S Ultra will also be the world’s first smartphone to feature Sony’s latest IMX989 camera sensor.
The specifications of the Mi 12S series have also been leaked on various occasions in the past. All phones in the series are expected to come with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. Speculations of a Mi 12S Pro Dimensity Edition powered by the chipmaker’s Dimensity 9000 SoC are circulating on the internet.
