Robert Maloney has joined specialty insurer Emerald Bay Risk Solutions as senior vice president and head of Ceded Re.
Emerald Bay Risk Solutions is a “collaborative underwriting firm” launched in 2024 by co-founders Dave Ingrey and Miles Allkins, with support from Bain Capital.
It leverages data-driven technology and underwriting expertise to coordinate interests across the risk value chain.
This enables the company to provide customized Excess & Surplus (E&S) market solutions through partners such as Managing General Agents (MGAs).
Emerald Bay’s goals are disciplined growth, strong capital protection and long-term partnerships. They offer admitted and non-admitted insurance and maintain a strong financial position backed by an A- (Excellent) rating from AM Best.
Maloney previously served for six years with MS Transverse Insurance Group, most recently as Vice President (VP) of Reinsurance.
During his tenure at MS Transverse, the executive held a variety of positions, including vice president of reinsurance and underwriting and underwriting specialist.
Prior to that, he served as a senior underwriter for the Spanish company MAPRE RE and spent twenty years with Munich Re USA.
