The Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA), the body representing the interests of managing agents and Lloyd’s brokers, has appointed Matthew Bellamy as underwriting director, who will join the agency at the end of 2026.
In his new role, Bellamy will report to LMA chief executive Sheila Cameron and lead LMA’s underwriting team.
In addition, he will play a key role in working with Lloyd’s, LMA members and the Lloyd’s market, making a unique and unparalleled contribution to influencing market change.
Most recently, Bellamy served as chief underwriting officer at Ki and an active underwriter on Ki Syndicate 1618.
Previously, he was underwriting director and UK deputy chief underwriting officer at Fidelis Partnership. He began his career as a property treaty underwriter in Amlin.
Cameron said of the appointment: “I am delighted to welcome Matthew to LMA. Matthew’s underwriting knowledge and experience will be vital in delivering a better market for the underwriting community and supporting our underwriting teams for our members, managers and member agents. I look forward to his joining. His addition will further strengthen LMA’s leadership team.”
