Liberty names Jimmy Tong as CEO Singapore

Liberty Mutual Insurance Group’s newly integrated Singapore business Liberty has appointed Jimmy Tong as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective April 27, 2026.

Liberty previously operated in Singapore through Liberty Insurance and Liberty Specialty Markets, which merged into a single insurance license on January 1, 2026, with Liberty Insurance transferring its general insurance portfolio to Liberty Specialty Markets.

The unified entity offers a broad range of personal, SME and corporate insurance products, including property, liability, auto, health and professional insurance.

Based in Singapore, Tong will report to Asia Pacific president Matthew Jackson, who said: “In Asia Pacific, our goal this year is to operate as one Liberty in every market – creating a simpler, stronger organization for our customers and partners.

“The completion of the Singapore transfer, and Jimmy’s leadership of the business, represents a strong start to the year.”

Tong is reported to be an experienced Singaporean executive who has led and overseen Great Eastern’s general and group insurance businesses in Singapore for the past decade after holding senior leadership roles at United Overseas Bank for 15 years.

After the merger of Liberty Singapore, former Liberty Insurance CEO Yasar Fistikci became Singapore’s chief product officer.

Meanwhile, current Liberty Specialty Markets CEO Nicole Lim has chosen to explore opportunities outside of Liberty and will leave the company at the end of April.
