Algorithmic Lloyd’s digital attention platform Ki has appointed Helen Rios as active underwriter of Syndicate 1618, effective from March 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
In her new role, Rios will report to Ki CEO Mark Allan and join the company’s executive committee.
Rios has served as director of underwriting for Ki’s casualty division since the company’s launch in 2020.
The company explained that she joined before Ki launched and played a key role in establishing the casualty division and wider underwriting functions.
In the past, Rios held underwriting roles at Brit, Liberty Specialty Insurance Markets and RMS.
Allan commented on the appointment: “I am delighted to announce Helen’s appointment as active underwriter of Syndicate 1618.
“Helen brings a strong underwriting background along with her early experience building Ki, a combination that supports our focus on data and algorithms as well as underwriting expertise.
