Ruya’s brother Konstantin Ignatov (Konstantin Ignatov) pleaded guilty to money laundering and fraud after he was arrested in March last year.
McAdam was a victim of the Onecoin Ponzi scheme; she established a support group for those affected by the scam. She, her family and friends invested and lost nearly $300,000. McAdam tweeted on Saturday after the news of the upcoming movie came out, thanking author and broadcaster Douglas Thompson for helping her write “Fake! She described her book as “a memoir of mine, and the hell of the journey to justice in the Onecoin fraud scam. Now, this book will appear in the Hollywood MGM movie. I am very excited.
