Howden Re Fac has expanded its DACH team with the appointment of Enver Karapinar as concurrent DACH Director and Andreas Fricke as concurrent DACH Managing Director Reinsurance.

Howden said Karapinar has more than 30 years of underwriting and brokerage experience, deep expertise in temporary reinsurance and a strong reputation in the DACH market.

Frick, meanwhile, has more than 15 years of industry experience in underwriting and brokerage.

Howden Re said the appointments will be based in Hamburg, following the build-out of senior leadership at the German branch and the continued expansion of local treaty, part-time, analytical, capital and advisory capabilities to support its wider investments in Germany as a hub for DACH operations.

Enver Karapinar commented: “I am delighted to be joining Howden Re at such an exciting time for the business. The company’s entrepreneurial culture and strong reputation in the temporary market create excellent opportunities to work closely with clients and colleagues and drive sustainable growth across the DACH region.”

Marenco Scholz, regional head of DACH France and FAC Benelux, to whom the pair will report, said: “These appointments represent another step in the continued development of Howden Re’s international concurrent platform at a time when demand for concurrent solutions continues to grow in the European market.

“Enver and Andreas join our executive, regional management team together with Tom Sharman, Managing Director in London, Klaus Hoffmann, Managing Director in Cologne, Eric Müller, Managing Director in Basel and Jean Francois Fily, Managing Director in Paris.”
