Global reinsurance broker and risk advisor Aon has announced the appointment of Jimmy Mitchell and Adam Rimmer as brokers in the firm’s global reinsurance team, effective immediately.
Mitchell has been named vice president of Global ReSpecialty in New York. He will work with clients to build global treaty portfolios, leveraging his experience and market relationships to expand access to the proportional reinsurance market.
The executive has been part of Aon’s commercial risk team since 2025, when he joined the firm after working at brokers Guy Carpenter and Willis.
In his new role, Mitchell will report to James Fogarty, global head of marine, energy and composites at Global ReSpecialty, and will be responsible for operating the retrocession and specialty ratio business lines.
Rimmer joins Aon as a Senior Real Estate Professional Broker. He will be based in London and report to Global ReSpecialty senior agent Ivor James.
He brings deep technical knowledge in property reinsurance, insurance-related securities and parametric solutions, which he will use to advise clients on a variety of risk transfer solutions.
Prior to joining Aon, Rimmer was part of parametric MGA FloodFlash, where he served as co-founder and CEO for eight years, and before that he spent five years on the capital markets team at risk modeling firm RMS.
Richard Wheeler, Co-Head of Global ReSpecialty, commented: “We are pleased to welcome Jimmy and Adam to our growing team to help our clients make better decisions. They represent our continued investment in exceptional talent and expertise to support our clients in achieving profitable growth and effective risk management strategies in an evolving risk environment.”
