Indian Oil Corporation clarifies that there is no fuel shortage at petrol pumps across the country
Amid rumours of petrol and diesel shortages in Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and even Ahmedabad in Gujarat, leading to long queues at petrol stations in cities across these states, Indian Oil had to issue a clarification on Tuesday night Said that all its fuel supply outlets are absolutely normal and there is no need to panic.
Rumors of fuel shortages surfaced over the weekend, which soon led to long queues at gas stations, with many dealers even closing gas stations due to crowd control, according to reports.
The situation in Rajasthan and Uttarakhand was out of control, and in the capital cities of Jaipur and Dehradun respectively, the local petrol pump associations had to clarify that there was no shortage of petrol and diesel.
The Dehradun government has even launched an investigation into the matter and has warned that stern action will be taken against rumour spreaders.
The panic forced Indian Oil Corporation to clarify, with the retailer’s director (marketing) V Satish Kumar tweeting that the fuel supply is absolutely normal.
