Global insurance and reinsurance broker Howden has announced the appointment of Shunsuke Takechi, an experienced and qualified Japanese lawyer with over 13 years of experience, as Head of Japan M&A.
Takechi has the unique reputation of being the first and only registered senior Japanese attorney in the insurance brokerage industry.
His expertise spans a variety of M&A risk solutions, including warranty and indemnity insurance, tax contingent insurance and litigation risk insurance.
Takechi has a proven track record of successfully connecting Japanese clients to global insurance companies and managing teams on cross-border transactions.
The executive’s deep knowledge of the local market and strong relationships will be key assets in further strengthening Howden’s M&A capabilities in Japan.
Kentaro Tada, CEO of Howden Japan, said: “We are delighted to have Shunsuke join Howden. His unique position as a qualified Japanese lawyer in the insurance brokerage industry enhances our ability to deliver complex M&A solutions using real local expertise.”
Takechi joins Howden from rival broker Aon, where he most recently served as senior associate director in the firm’s Tokyo office.
After five years as a market development manager at global insurance company AIG, he started working at Aon as a deputy director. He also worked at the law firm ALG & Associates for five years in various roles.
