How to create shortcuts on iPhone to automate tasks

Looking for a way to create shortcuts on iPhone to automate certain tasks? Apple provides a dedicated Shortcuts app, which is pre-installed on all iPhone models running iOS 13 and later. This single application is all you need to create shortcuts to make your iPhone perform certain operations automatically in sequence. These can be actions that you want Siri to perform after receiving your voice command, or they can be features that you want to enable at a specific point in time.

The Shortcuts app is an independent upgrade of Siri Shortcuts. It was launched in 2018 with the release of iOS 12 and aims to make it easier for users. It can be used to create automated workflows, such as setting up a schedule for your morning, generating expense reports after you complete your most recent purchase, or finding a nearby coffee shop before going home.

Apple provides a series of preset shortcuts from which you can choose the shortcut you want. Alternatively, you can create your own shortcut-it depends on your requirements. This is how it is done.

  5. The application will show you the selected action on the “New Shortcut” screen. You can edit the action of your choice by clicking on any highlighted action.

  6. Press the plus sign (+) Button to add another operation. It’s important to note that by default, your previous actions will be displayed on the screen. However, you can view all available actions by clicking the close button.

  7. After completing the required operations, you can test your workflow by pressing the “Play” button.

  8. Now, click Next And enter the name of the custom shortcut.

  9. press complete Save your shortcut.

The saved shortcuts will be displayed in the “My Shortcuts” section of the Shortcuts application. You can also copy a saved shortcut or delete it by pressing and holding a gesture on that specific shortcut. In addition, you can reorder the shortcuts to arrange them according to your priority.

You can also bring shortcuts to widgets for easy access directly from the home screen. Apple also allows you to share your favorite shortcuts with anyone, letting them use the same automated workflow on the iPhone—no need to manually add the steps you follow.
