Instagram is a popular social platform for sharing links to work or some worth mentioning articles and stories. Influencers and creators also often use links to let their followers go online to visit their work, promote other brands or advertise products. Earlier, Instagram provided a “swipe up” option to add links to Instagram stories, but it has recently been replaced by Instagram stickers. This new feature allows users to add links to any location in Instagram Stories. It is no longer limited to the bottom of the page.

How to add a link to an Instagram story

Not all Instagram users can add links to their Instagram stories. Only people who have more than 10,000 followers on social media platforms, have verified accounts, or represent well-known brands can add links to Instagram stories. These limits are probably enforced by Instagram to prevent the spread of misinformation and false links on the platform. If you belong to the above access to the link button, please follow the simple steps below to add a link to Instagram Stories. It is important to reiterate that users must exercise caution when sharing links with their audience. Check the authenticity of the link and make sure it is not a phishing or spam link.

  1. Open Instagram on your phone and Swipe left Upload an Instagram story.

  2. Add your photos or videos and edit them to your liking.

  3. Swipe up Open the edit tray and link options (a Chain icon) Should be displayed next to Poll.

  4. Click it and Paste URL You want to share with your followers.

  5. Part of the link will be displayed in the sticker of your story so that your followers will know it before you click it.

  6. You can move the sticker to any part of the Instagram story.

  7. Share your story with one click Share with Option and make it effective. Anyone viewing your Instagram stories can click the link.
