HDI Global UK & Ireland (HDI) announces the appointment of Matthew Bond as Head of Energy & Power, effective 2 March 2026
In his new role, Bond will lead HDI’s energy and power portfolio in the UK and Ireland, with a focus on further strengthening the company’s proposition by combining specialist underwriting and engineering expertise within cross-functional departments. He will report to Kate Sutcliffe, chief underwriting officer at Bobtail UK and Ireland.
Bond has more than two decades of industry experience and a strong track record in underwriting and engineering in the energy and power sectors.
Prior to joining HDI, he served as head of Asia Pacific Energy and Buildings at AIG, based in Singapore.
Prior to that, Bond served as technology property portfolio manager for Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance and held roles at CNA Hardy and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance.
