Hannover Re has appointed Ridwaan Patel as chief financial officer of Hannover ReTakaful BSC and its Bahrain branch, subject to approval by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB).
Most recently, Patel served as Chief Risk Officer and Head of Compliance and Risk at Hannover ReTakaful BSC, a position he has held since April 2016.
He has more than 20 years of experience in finance, risk, compliance and governance, 17 of which were with Hannover Re, joining the Bahrain branch in March 2009 as Finance Manager.
In addition, Patel served as Senior Manager Finance and Compliance at Hannover Re for more than 13 years.
In the past, he has served as an associate at Hamilton Consulting and as financial director at Repo Wild 1021 CC.
Patel began his career in 2002 as an intern at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
