Guy Carpenter, reinsurance broker, risk advisor and Marsh Group member, has appointed Al Paas as head of European capital and advisory.
In his new role, Paas will lead the brokerage’s expansion and strengthen its investment banking capabilities across the continent.
Paas has extensive international experience in capital markets and M&A advisory, having worked in the industry for more than three decades.
Since 2016, he has served as a principal at Cresta Investments, Inc., managing commercial real estate investments.
Prior to that, he served as global head of strategy at QBE Insurance, managing director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley, and global head of strategy, M&A and advisory at Zurich Insurance Company.
Earlier in his career, Paas served as Chief Financial Officer of Hampton Re Group and
Vice President, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.
