Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), a division of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has announced the appointment of Rob Groenen as the newly created Head of European Portfolio Solutions.
Groening will be based in the Netherlands and retain his current role as general manager for the Benelux and Nordic regions.
He will continue to report to Pierre-Edouard Fraigneau, LSM Europe President and Chief Underwriting Officer.
As Head of European Portfolio Solutions, combines Affinity and Project Business (APB) with digital within a Portfolio Solutions operating model to provide clients with a one-stop shop for access to Liberty’s market-leading capabilities.
The approach will involve centralizing and coordinating product and underwriting expertise, synchronizing approaches to distribution teams, and continuing to leverage local knowledge and skills through established regional partnerships.
In this new role, Groenen will be responsible for executing business plans for Liberty’s commissioned and digital operations in Europe. This includes ensuring high-quality end-to-end performance, as well as building and maintaining strong relationships in the countries where the company operates.

Under his leadership, Portfolio Solutions will be able to easily deploy our ABP and digital capabilities to meet the needs of customers across Europe.”
Groenen joined Liberty in 2007 as Country Manager for the Netherlands and has been with Liberty for nearly 19 years.
Since then he has been responsible for expanding the product portfolio and footprint, offering multi-cabin products in the Nordics and Benelux.
