Alphabet’s secret research department said on Friday that it will launch its new robotic software and artificial intelligence project Intrinsic under Google’s parent company, which owns future businesses such as Verily and Waymo.

In order to expand its main search and advertising business, Google established Alphabet as a holding company in 2015 to oversee various “other bets,” from its self-driving car division to helium balloons that provide solar-powered Internet services in remote areas.

Intrinsic has developed software tools aimed at manufacturing industrial robots that can be used to manufacture everything from solar panels to cars, and has incubated its technology in Google’s research department X for more than five years.

Wendy Tan White, CEO of Intrinsic, said: “We are now ready to become an independent Alphabet company, leaving the rapid prototyping environment of the moon landing factory to focus on developing our products and verifying our technology,” adding that the company is looking for Hiring people.

X is known as Alphabet’s “Moon Landing Factory” and is a research and development department that serves as a nursery for many of the company’s branch projects, such as Waymo, Wing, Makani, Loon, etc., helping them take root as viable independent entities.
