Fiona Marry named as Bridgehaven’s new European CEO

Bridgehaven Europe Specialty DAC (Bridgehaven), a European insurance company specializing in commercial and professional risks, has announced the appointment of Fiona Marry as CEO Europe.

Operating out of Bridgehaven’s Dublin office, Marry will be responsible for the firm’s European expansion, with a particular focus on building a more cohesive and connected ecosystem for commercial and professional ventures.

Marry brings extensive expertise over her 35-year career, most recently as CEO of USAA EU DAC and previously as CEO and COO of Hamilton Insurance DAC.

She has worked in a number of key markets, underwriting international companies in the Dublin market and successfully established distribution channels in Europe, Australia and Asia.

Her appointment marks an important milestone in Bridgehaven’s expansion strategy to expand its network of Managing General Agent (MGA) partners across the EU.

The firm intends to expand its business model across Europe by leveraging its existing capabilities from its Dublin headquarters and developing additional specialist risk categories.

Bridgehaven’s commitment in Europe is to create a more cohesive and connected insurance ecosystem, building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships between MGAs and reinsurers.

Backed by an A- (Excellent) rated capacity, Bridgehaven is well-positioned to deliver a strong, differentiated solution to European MGAs, the company said.

Following the recent signing of the first European MGA capacity agreement with Arrow Risk Management Gmbh, Bridgehaven expects to support multiple European MGAs in 2026.

Erik Matson, Group Chairman of Bridgehaven Europe Holdings Limited, said: “We are delighted to have Fiona join our team as CEO of our European entity. Her extensive underwriting experience across multiple markets will be invaluable as we continue to grow our capabilities in Ireland and the rest of the EU. Bridgehaven is a company driven by its underwriting ethos and her underwriting capabilities coupled with her global distribution expertise make her the perfect choice to lead our next phase of growth.”

Bridgehaven EU CEO Marry added: “Bridgehaven is at a moment of rapid expansion and development, and as one of the first hybrid insurance companies to enter the European market, I am very motivated to lead the team. I have worked in multi-market channels and I am excited to bring this innovative model to the EU, bringing together MGAs and reinsurers to achieve mutual development.”
