Farmers Insurance appoints John Pham as Chief Strategy & Risk Officer

Farmers Insurance, the largest California-based property casualty insurance company, has appointed John Pham as chief strategy and risk officer.

In his new role, Pham reports to Farmers Group, Inc. CEO Raul Vargas.

He will work across the enterprise to help translate strategy into measurable business results, focusing on improvements in execution discipline, operational excellence and technology enablement.

Most recently, he served as director of strategic business initiatives at GEICO, where he was responsible for operating shared services.

In this role, Pham works with product, technology and business leaders to improve contact center automation and customer experience, enhance enterprise learning and onboarding at scale, establish an enterprise-wide quality framework, and enhance the use of customer insights to drive process improvements.

Prior to that, he served as Chief Information Officer at GEICO, where he led large business units with P&L responsibility and implemented new initiatives to drive profitable growth and improve customer service.

Vargas commented on the appointment: “John brings extensive experience leading complex, cross-functional transformations in property and casualty insurance.

“His background in operational execution, customer experience and technology modernization will be a great asset as we continue to enhance our performance and create value for our customers, agents and employees.”
