After Sony made it available to subscribers and used the power of streamers and social media, the independent British company Tonic Games released the latest feel-good game hit “Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout”.
Drawing inspiration from classic TV shows (such as Takeshi’s Castle and It’s Knockout), players can browse clumsy, costumed avatars through a series of life-and-death mini-games, which are widely praised as new additions to saturated Royal Royale games.
Titled games are popular because consumers flocked to them after the coronavirus outbreak closed other entertainment options, and Nintendo’s escapist animal “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” became a popular game.
As of August, Fall Guys is now available to nearly 45 million PlayStation Plus subscribers, the service is part of Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida’s strategy to promote the group’s recurring revenue.
The title has become the most downloaded game on the service.
Paul Croft, co-founder of Tonic Games, said that launching games on PlayStation Plus helps ensure that each game quickly attracts the top 60 players.
Croft said in an interview: “We know we need to be bigger from the beginning.”
After successfully adopting a dual-platform launch strategy for Rocket League from developer Psyonix in 2015, Fall Guys has also purchased the strategy on Valve’s PC Steam platform for more than 7 million, which was later acquired by Epic Games.
Its TV influence and emphasis on fun and humor, the avatar ran chaotically at all levels and rolled from the platform, which helped to ensure viewing ability and pushed the game to the rankings of streaming platforms such as Twitch. High budget counterparts.
