Press release. December 21, 2020 Nexus Protocol White Paper released. The new Internet will be driven by a blockchain-based operating system (LX-OS) and a communication protocol (Nexus protocol), which will be connected via a mesh network based on distributed satellites. The white paper contains technical specifications and mathematical models. These technical specifications and mathematical models demonstrate and prove the feasibility, value proposition and practicality of this novel architecture.
Web 3.0 or Decentralized Web (DWeb) is known as the next development trend of the Internet. It is expected to liberate digital communications by reducing users’ reliance on a few companies and technologies, thereby ultimately reducing the dominance of corporate groups. The Nexus protocol takes this step a step further by decentralizing and democratizing the hardware and software of the network infrastructure. A network composed of tagged microsatellites, ground stations and phased array antennas constitutes the backbone of the infrastructure, which will provide an alternative to centralized Internet service providers (ISP).
The tokenized microsatellite constellation will provide individuals with opportunities to own a portion of the physical infrastructure of the Internet, establish fairness and participate in decentralized governance. Microsatellites will operate in many low earth orbit (LEO) constellations to provide low latency and open access to the Nexus protocol worldwide. The white paper states that future documents will provide further specifications, including the minimum number of satellites required to form the initial network and constellation simulation. Another satellite value proposition includes the upcoming Nexus LLD file system, which will allow individuals to negotiate escrow contracts between entities and generate a direct return on investment (ROI) from available flash memory. The following is the design summary:
- Each constellation is represented by a unique set of fungible tokens created on Nexus.
- Ownership and optional voting rights are maintained by the rights and interests represented by these tokens.
- The income generated by the constellation is automatically distributed to the owner through token rewards.
- Direct economic benefits will be provided to entities deploying satellites, similar to the way mining incentivizes blockchain construction.
- Microsatellite will provide reputation-based network services to supplement the routing system between the ground station and its gathered customers.
The ground station will operate in a cellular topology, performing most of the heavy network processing and providing localized content, edge computing and routing services. At the same time, the phased array antenna will be used to maintain the link with the LEO microsatellite. This type of antenna is motorized and can achieve high gain and high mobility, so it has been selected for continuous two-way communication between satellites and ground stations. In terms of end-user access, two standards are currently being considered: Wi-Fi local hotspots and cellular LTE technology.
Ground infrastructure will provide content delivery services to local networks, creating opportunities for ground station operators to generate return on investment. Operators will be able to provide geospatial caching services to provide various content delivery speeds for their local customers.
Frequency allocation It is essential to ensure that the Nexus agreement achieves the goal of a free and open agreement (not restricted and owned by any party). To this end, it will use the 5.8 GHz industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) frequency band, which does not require licensing or restrictions on antenna gain. The white paper also contains mathematical proof modeling of link survivability within the limits of the selected ISM band.
operating system, Is the Nexus operating system (OS) designed specifically for the Nexus protocol. It is currently under development to strengthen hardware abstraction, security requirements and reduce the overall risk of embedded devices, micro-satellites and consumer-grade hardware. These security qualities are achieved by using the Nexus blockchain for user identity verification and information verification. LX-OS will initially market microsatellites and IoT devices because each product is known for its vulnerabilities. These industries can benefit greatly from enhanced protection and dynamic management capabilities.
The perfect combination of infrastructure components and economic models aims to cultivate numerous sources of income in order to ultimately provide humans with free Internet services on a global scale while creating universal economic opportunities. The mathematical model strengthens the incentives for cooperatives by monetizing predatory behavior to resist monopoly, thereby enhancing this.
Nexus protocol has been integrated into TAO framework, This is a seven-layer software stack that can simplify Smart contract, DApps, Tokens and assets (NFT) through a set Application Programming Interface (API).
In order to be consistent with the true open source encryption value, in order to keep the white paper as an open specification, it is time stamped and recorded on the Nexus blockchain under the asset name US:NP-WP.accessible Link API.
Nexus.io This is a community-driven project whose vision is innovation, responsible values, a wide range of technologies, and basic connection quality that is ubiquitous, free and accessible to everyone, inspiring a shared vision of the world.
