Coinbase Commerce now supports Dogecoin payments – Altcoins Bitcoin News

Coinbase now accepts commercial payments in Dogecoin. By adding the meme cryptocurrency, Coinbase Commerce now allows customers to use seven cryptocurrencies to checkout and make payments.

Coinbase Commerce now supports Dogecoin

  • Coinbase Commerce is a platform of NASDAQ-listed Coinbase, which “enables merchants all over the world to accept cryptocurrency payments in a completely decentralized manner,” its website describes.
  • The company announced via Twitter on Wednesday:

We now accept commercial payments in Dogecoin (DOGE).

  • According to its website, seven cryptocurrencies are now supported. Customers can “use Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dai, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin or U.S. Dollars for checkout and payment.”

  • The website further explained: “All payments facilitated by Coinbase Commerce are completely decentralized and peer-to-peer. This means that the cryptocurrency is transferred directly from your wallet to a wallet that can only be accessed by merchants. In this process, except for merchants (Including Coinbase), no one can get these funds.”
  • In June, the NASDAQ-listed company added Dogecoin and its rival Shiba Inu (SHIB) to Coinbase Pro.
  • At the same time, Coinbase has been expanding globally. The company was recently approved to conduct business in Germany and Japan. It has also established an encryption center in India, employing hundreds of people. In addition, Coinbase is planning to launch a crypto app store similar to Apple.
