Carrick Group Limited, the international non-life legacy insurance company headquartered in Bermuda, has announced the appointment of Alex Smith as Senior Vice President of London Operations and Aidan Mills as Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions in Bermuda.
Smith has more than 25 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Carrick Group, he held a consultancy role at PoloWorks, working with the company’s executive team and MarcoCapital to establish the Lloyd’s consortium.
Prior to this he was Distribution Director for Mission Underwriters UK & EU. Earlier in his career, he held positions at Amlin, Liberty Syndicates, Brit Insurance, Swiss Re, Dale Underwriting, Liberty Specialty Markets and Pen Underwriting.
In his new role as vice president of mergers and acquisitions, Mills will work alongside Armin De Weert, assistant vice president of finance in the Carrick Bermuda office.
Mills joins Chubb as an assistant vice president and has more than a decade of experience in the re/insurance industry.
Previously, he worked as an ILS specialist at AXA XL and held accounting and finance positions at Allianz Insurance. Prior to that, he served as a senior financial analyst at Deloitte.
