Carrick Group appoints Matt Brand as Head of Governance

Bermuda-based international non-life insurer Carrick Group Limited has appointed Matt Brand as head of governance.

Brand joins Hampton Group after spending ten years with Hampton Group, most recently as Group Operations Director. In his new role, he reports to CEO Tom Nicholls and is responsible for ensuring Carrick’s operations comply with regulatory requirements in Bermuda and the UK.

Based in London, Brand began his career at Seymour Taylor in 2005 before moving to Blick Rothenberg as an Account Manager.

Earlier this year, Carrick also strengthened its team with two additional appointments: Alex Smith as senior vice president of London operations and Aidan Mills as vice president of mergers and acquisitions in Bermuda.

Nicholls added: “As Carrick continues to grow into new regulatory jurisdictions, we are pleased to welcome Matt to lead our global corporate governance, ensuring Carrick continues to maintain its regulatory excellence with consistency and transparency.”

“I am excited to lead Carrick Holdings’ corporate governance function,” Brand commented. “My top priority is to ensure our protocols remain rigorous and effective as we deliver professional final solutions to the market. I look forward to leveraging my background in this field to protect the interests of our stakeholders and support Carrick’s long-term success.”
