British politician and leader of the Brexit Party, Nigel Farage, praised Bitcoin as the ultimate anti-lock-in investment. The controversial politician’s comments are taken from an issue of his daily “Wealth and Freedom” newsletter, whose purpose is to help “get money and destiny back in hands.”
The newsletter is issued by Southbank Investment Research, whose mission is to “publish investment ideas that can change people’s lives.” Meanwhile, after the newsletter was published, Farage was interviewed with Sam Volkering of South Bank Bank. In this discussion, the politician doubled his new discovery of Bitcoin.
Farrag, who led the liberals and took the lead in the Brexit movement, said in his speech: “From the poorest to the richest country in the country, one of the ongoing conversations is about cryptocurrency.” The politician said, Expansion of the reasons why cryptocurrency is popular:
Its (because) government is making a lot of ridiculous money through this pandemic, devaluing the currency, and people worry about what this means for their money and investment.
According to Farage, it was the government’s devaluation of currency and the resulting inflation that prompted people to explore alternatives such as Bitcoin. Nevertheless, the British politician admitted that he is not a crypto expert and is “a bit lazy” about learning Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. However, Farrag said he has been self-study since he mastered the book written by Volkering. Then, he shared some of his thoughts after reading the book:
There are many things to learn, but they are very important. In fact, I think it may be crucial to understand encryption technology and its meaning. Already made a fortune, just lost it! I began to understand that these things are really important for our future.
Although Farage did not disclose that he owns Bitcoin, it is speculated that he chose Bitcoin because of the latest performance of the cryptocurrency, which is due to its enduring properties. For example, as Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank recently confirmed, Bitcoin has a known fixed supply, while national legal tender has an apparently unlimited supply. In addition, Bitcoin performs better than all other assets including gold. This makes it the best asset for preserving value.
