BDO, a professional services provider, has expanded its global footprint and enhanced its ability to serve clients with Bermuda domiciled structures with the official launch of BDO Bermuda.
The expansion underlines BDO’s commitment to providing audit and advisory services across the region, with Bermuda representing a jurisdiction of strategic importance for international business, particularly in the insurance, reinsurance and asset management sectors.
Gillian McCann has been appointed partner and will lead BDO Bermuda. McCann has over twenty years of experience advising Bermudian and international financial services industry organizations.
BDO Cayman Islands Managing Partner James George will be responsible for the management of the Bermuda office. He played a vital role in building BDO’s re/insurance capabilities across the region.
BDO Bermuda will provide on-island expertise, supported by the wider BDO global network, and provide a full range of services, including audit and assurance, tax and advisory. The addition of Bermuda further enhances BDO’s ability to provide seamless, cross-jurisdictional support to multinational organizations requiring consistent audit and advisory services.
George said: “This is an exciting milestone for BDO and a natural next step in our growth in the Caribbean.
“Bermuda is a global center for financial services and having an office here allows us to better support clients of Bermuda-incorporated entities while strengthening our regional and international capabilities. Under Gillian’s leadership, we are confident that BDO Bermuda will become a trusted partner to the local market and the wider international business community.”
