AXA XL, AXA’s property, casualty and specialty risks division, has confirmed the promotions of Mikki Williams and Doug Schmude to senior roles within its Americas specialty team.
These initiatives are part of the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its leadership position in key specialty businesses in the region.
Mikki Williams has been appointed Head of Ocean Marine, overseeing Cargo, Hull & P&I and Marine Liability. Headquartered in Seattle, Williams has developed extensive expertise through years of maritime underwriting and risk assessment experience.
In this role, Williams will direct the marine portfolio across the Americas, directing underwriting strategy, portfolio management and market engagement in the marine specialty space.
Doug Schmude has been named director of commercial bonds. Schmulder will operate out of Chicago and lead the commercial bond portfolio with responsibility for business development, underwriting oversight and broker engagement. Drawing on his extensive market experience, Schmude will focus on further developing capabilities in this business area and supporting customer needs.
