AXA XL has appointed Sebastian Weaver as head of energy, UK and Lloyd’s, where he will lead the development and execution of the business’s underwriting strategy to drive profitable growth, strengthen risk management and expand market share.
Weaver joins AXA XL from QBE where he served as director of underwriting oversight for QBE Portfolio Solutions.
Prior to this, he held various energy roles at QBE, including head of sustainable energy, upstream energy portfolio manager and senior offshore energy underwriter.
Weaver will reportedly start his role in the third quarter of 2026 and will be based in London.
