Bermuda-based global specialist insurance company Ascot Group has announced a number of leadership promotions across the UK, Bermuda and the US.
Nick González has been promoted to senior vice president, Healthcare Professional Liability.
González joined Ascot Group in 2023 from Beazley and served as Vice President, Professional Responsibility – Healthcare prior to promotion.
The executive is an experienced healthcare professional liability underwriter who has been with Beazley for seven years after four years at NAS Insurance Services.
K. Pierson Jones is promoted to senior vice president and director of E&S Casualty Division. He has joined Ascot Group since 2022 as Assistant Vice President E&S Casualty. Prior to his new promotion, he served as Vice President – Southeast Region Manager for E&S Casualty for two years.
Previously, he also worked at IAT Insurance Group, The Hanover Insurance Group, Tokio Marine HCC and Endurance.
Joy LaHuta has been promoted to Chief Claims Officer, Bermuda, joining Ascot Group in 2021 as Senior Vice President and Head of Claims, following nearly five years at Renaissance Re where he served as Vice President and Head of Claims.
Wasner Martinez has been promoted to senior vice president of portfolio solutions after nearly four years as vice president of portfolio solutions. He initially joined Ascot Group in 2022 as Assistant Vice President of Ceded Reinsurance.
Prior to that, the executive spent nearly three years at AXIS Capital and completed a 13-year tenure at AIG.
Another recent promotion to the Ascot Group is Alexander Simon, who has been appointed collective underwriter to the International Liability Authorization Agency.
Simon joined the company in 2026 as underwriter of Ascot Syndicate 1414. Prior to that, he worked at Syndicate DTW1991 for seven years.
