To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the death of Steve Jobs, Apple has opened a special homepage on its website that contains old memories of the company’s co-founders. The homepage welcomes visitors through a short video containing a photo of Jobs and his inspirational quotes. The Jobs family also issued a statement expressing their loss. The Apple co-founder died in 2011 at his home in Palo Alto, California-after years of suffering from neuroendocrine cancer.
The special homepage on Apple.com shows a montage with different monochrome photos of Jobs with a text superimposed on it that says “Celebrate Steve”. Apple also provided a link to a nearly three-minute video showing Jobs’ old memories and his voice-over, showing the executive’s most memorable quotes.
Scrolling down a bit, the homepage shows the statement of the Jobs family in his memory. “For ten years, mourning and healing have coexisted. Our gratitude is as great as our loss,” it wrote.
The full text of the statement is reproduced below.
For ten years, mourning and healing have coexisted. Our gratitude is as great as our loss.
Each of us has found our own way of comfort, but we gather in a beautiful place that loves Steve and what he taught us.
For all Steve’s gifts, his strength as a teacher has been insisting. He taught us to be open to the beauty of the world, to be curious about new ideas, to see the next corner, and the most important thing to be humble in our own beginner minds.
Many things we still see through his eyes, but he also taught us to find ourselves. He gave us living utensils, which are very useful for us.
One of our greatest sources of comfort is our connection between Steve and beauty. Seeing something beautiful-a wooded hillside, a well-made object-reminds us of his spirit. Even in his years of suffering, he never lost his faith in the beauty of existence.
The memory in our hearts is not enough: we miss him deeply. We are fortunate to have him as a husband and father.
Although it has been ten years since Jobs passed away in October 2021, the industry still remembers the ups and downs faced by this executive in his career.
On Monday, former Apple design director Jony Ive wrote an article in memory of his friend and colleague Jobs for The Wall Street Journal. Magazine. “My understanding of him refuses to be comfortable or still,” he said.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk also expressed his wish to talk to Jobs before his death, in order to pay tribute to Jobs. The billionaire replied to a tweet that cited an article about the 10th anniversary of the death of Apple’s co-founder. Said“I wish I had the opportunity to talk to him.”
Jobs co-founded Apple with Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne in 1976 to build the next generation of personal computers. However, the technology company expanded in subsequent years and added iPod touch, iPhone and iPad as some new products.
