Global insurance intermediary platform ANV Group Holdings Ltd. has acquired Specialty Comp Insurance Solutions (SCIS), a Texas-based managing general agent (MGA) specializing in workers’ compensation insurance that is difficult to place with a single policy, from Specialty Program Group, a subsidiary of Hub International.

The acquisition is designed to strengthen ANV’s specialty product offerings and U.S. operations by adding a differentiated regional workers’ compensation MGA with deep middle-market expertise.

SCIS generated gross premiums of approximately $250 million in 2025 and currently manages a diversified portfolio investing in the construction, manufacturing and healthcare sectors. MGA also has a significant presence in the temporary workforce industry.

SCIS joins ANV’s California-based agricultural workers’ compensation MGA Risico as part of the company’s broader strategy to build a scalable, diversified workers’ compensation platform spanning plan underwriting, wholesale distribution and specialty niche markets across the United States.

The team is led by Executive Vice President Steve Math, who has 35 years of insurance experience and has held leadership positions at Texas Mutual, Argo Group and ACE USA.

Alan Wynn serves as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Underwriting Officer and has more than 22 years of experience with Argo Group, most recently as Senior Vice President (SVP) and Head of U.S. Commercial Programs.

Matthew Feury serves as senior vice president of underwriting, leading SCIS’s underwriting strategy since 2012. He has more than two decades of professional workers’ compensation expertise from positions at QBE, ACE/Chubb and AIG.

Mike Beck also serves as SCIS’s senior vice president and field underwriting officer, supporting the company since it began operations in 2007. He has deep specialized workers’ compensation expertise, having served as Vice President of Workers’ Compensation Underwriting at QBE North America, Senior Director of Workers’ Compensation Underwriting at ACE/Chubb, and Senior Classification Analyst at NCCI.

Adam Karkowsky, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ANV, commented: “Adding SCIS alongside our existing workers’ compensation business, Risico, will position ANV as a leading provider of middle-market workers’ compensation with diversified underwriting expertise and a go-to option for hard-to-cover risks. Together, these businesses form the foundation of a differentiated workers’ compensation platform with real depth in the U.S. market.”

Chris Treanor, President and CEO of Specialty Program Group, said: “Separating from SCIS was not a decision we made lightly, and we rarely sell businesses. However, faced with a unique set of circumstances, we believe a sale to ANV is the right path forward for our insureds, brokerage partners and employees. ANV’s deep capabilities and closely aligned philosophies with AmTrust give us confidence in this decision, and we look forward to supporting them as a trusted trading partner.”
