Amiga Specialty partners with AXA XL to bolster Financial Institutions offering

Specialty Managing General Agent (MGA) Amiga Specialty has signed a major capacity agreement with AXA XL which will strengthen its financial institution (FI) proposition and accelerate its growth in international markets.

The transaction focuses on insuring core financial risks, including directors and officers (D&O) liability, professional liability and crime.

Adam Kembrooke, founder and CEO of Amiga Specialty, said: “We are delighted to partner with AXA XL, a business with a truly global reputation and long-term commitment to specialty insurance. Their scale, financial strength and underwriting heritage make them a natural partner for Amiga as we continue to build a best-in-class global specialty platform.”

By leveraging AXA XL’s global footprint and financial ratings, Amiga Specialty aims to provide brokers and clients with broader limits and greater continuity.

Since its launch in 2025, MGA has been focused on building a disciplined, broker-led platform and this new partnership is in line with Amiga’s strategy of ensuring the long-term capacity of Tier 1 insurers to support its diversified portfolio.

The partnership enables Amiga Specialty to expand capacity in key international markets, provide customers with broader limits and continuity, strengthen long-term support for brokers and insureds, and accelerate growth in the D&O, professional liability and criminal areas.

Jamie Ricketts, who joined Amiga last October as managing director of financial institutions, said: “Financial institutions have been a core focus for Amiga from day one. This partnership enhances our ability to support brokers and clients with consistent, globally relevant propositions across D&O, professional liability and crime, delivered with the underwriting focus and responsiveness that is unique to Amiga.”
