Chennai Super Kings batsman Ambati Rayudu announced on Twitter on Saturday that the ongoing 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) season will be his last in the cash-rich league, but later deleted his tweet . Rayudu tweeted: “I am delighted to announce that this will be my last ipl. I had a great time and been part of two great teams for 13 years. My sincere thanks Mumbai Indians and Csk for a wonderful journey.”
Over the years, Rayudu has been a key addition to CSK’s batting lineup and has shown offense and conservative play to keep his team out of trouble.
Rayudu has played 187 matches in the IPL so far, scoring 4,187 runs with an average of 29.28. He also has a good strike rate of 127.26 and his highest score is 100 with no outs in the game.
During his IPL career, Rayudu represented Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. From 2010 to 2017, he represented Mumbai Indians.
Before IPL 2018, Rayudu was acquired by CSK. The team did not retain the batsman this season, but he was picked in a major auction for the MS Dhoni-led team.
Rayudu’s IPL career started in 2010 when he worked for Indians in Mumbai. In his first season, the right-handed hitter scored 356 points in 14 games.
