The controversial Infowars and Alex Jones Show host claimed that he lost a laptop containing 10,000 bitcoins. The popular TV personality Max Keiser handed him the laptop, and he confirmed the story.

Alex Jones claims he lost 10,000 bitcoins stored on his laptop

Alex Jones, the founder of the right-wing media group Infowars, revealed that he lost his laptop, which contained 10,000 bitcoins given to him by TV personality and bitcoin supporter Max Keiser. In the Flagrant 2 show with Andrew Schulz and Akaash Singh on Tuesday, he said that Keizer gave him 10K BTC on his laptop 10 years ago.

The U.S. far-right network and radio presenters are known for their imaginative conspiracy theories. He was described by New York Magazine as “the leading conspiracy theorist in America”, while the Southern Poverty Law Center described him as “the most prolific conspiracy theorist in contemporary America.”

Jones has been a critic of Bitcoin for a long time. He refused to be keen on cryptocurrency until he accepted the Keizer live broadcast in mid-February last year: “You are right, I should have set foot in Bitcoin a long time ago.” At the time, Keizer predicted The price of Bitcoin will reach $400,000.

On Tuesday’s show, Jones shared: “Ten years ago…Max Keizer came to me and he said I have 10,000 Bitcoins for you to use. This is the future. This will be new. Global currency. He is on the record.” However, Jones claimed:

I lost his laptop with 10,000 bitcoins. What is the value of 10,000 bitcoins today? a lot of.

Schultz immediately helped Jones calculate how much his Bitcoin would be worth. Rounding the price of Bitcoin, he estimated that the value of 10,000 BTC is approximately $500 million. “You idiot. Find that laptop,” Schultz said with a smile. At Jones’s request, Schultz got up and slapped him twice. “I deserve it,” Jones exclaimed, and everyone on the scene was laughing.

At the time of writing, the price of Bitcoin is $56,200, and Jones’s lost Bitcoin will be worth more than $562 million.

Max Keizer confirmed that he did give Jones 10,000 bitcoins

“I assure God that this is true. I didn’t know that Keizer was fascinated by Putin and the Easter Bunny,” Jones said further on the show.

Keizer subsequently confirmed that he did indeed give Jones a laptop containing 10K BTC. “Yes. He emphasized that the price was less than $5 at the time, adding that Jones’ story was “one of the most surprising chapters of Bitcoin.” Kaiser continued:

right now [the 10K bitcoins Jones lost are] Valued at US$565 million…soon (by 2021) it will reach US$2.2 billion.
