Maruti Suzuki will launch the new Brezza subcompact SUV in India today. Pre-orders for the SUV are now open for Rs 11,000. Ahead of the launch, Maruti has revealed new details about its upcoming model, including confirmation of some of its new features as well as engine and transmission details. The automaker also confirmed that the new-generation SUV will simply be called the Brezza, with the Vitara prefix now dropped. While the car’s design is still under wraps, photos of the unabashed model have surfaced online, giving a clear look at the SUV’s styling. The new Brezza retains the boxy and upright proportions of the outgoing Vitara Brezza, although the entire body shell is new. The front features new headlamps with J-shaped LED DRLs, flanked by a larger grille and a thicker front bumper highlighted with black cladding and faux skid plate elements.

From the side, the model appears to lack a well-defined shoulder line that runs the length of the car near the door handles, and the glass house is also new and longer than the old model. At the rear, new slim taillights and a chunky rear bumper complete the look.
The cabin will also be all-new, with the dash now getting a more layered design compared to the outgoing model. The touchscreen is a separate unit atop the center console, while parts like climate control and steering are shared with the likes of the new Baleno. Maruti has already confirmed some of the technology available, including a head-up display, SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system with connectivity technology, a 360-degree camera and a sunroof.

Meanwhile, transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a new 6-speed torque-converter automatic.
